Born from Tems' journey as a self-taught artist with a focus on driving change, the initiative offers training, mentorship, industry access, and community for women in music in Africa and beyond.
With a mission to close the gender gap in the music industry, the Leading Vibe Initiative builds pathways for women to rise.

Founder
As a two-time GRAMMY® Award–winning artist, songwriter, and producer, Tems is redefining the global music landscape. Rising from Lagos as a self-taught creative, she wrote, arranged, and produced her own music, developing a distinct sound that earned international acclaim.
Along the way, she encountered the structural barriers and gender imbalances that limit women's access to opportunity, particularly across Africa. Tems founded the Leading Vibe Initiative to address these gaps by expanding access, strengthening pathways, and positioning women to fully participate and lead in shaping the future of music.

Why
Data shows that women remain underrepresented across much of the music industry in Africa and globally. In Africa, these gaps are often more pronounced, leaving significant unrealized creative and economic potential. The Leading Vibe Initiative was created to address these gaps by expanding access, strengthening pathways, and positioning women to fully participate and lead in shaping the continent's growing music sector and creative economy.
What
We Do
The Leading Vibe Initiative invests in emerging women artists, producers, and songwriters across Africa and beyond, equipping them with the skills, tools, and community to succeed. It also works to address structural barriers to build a more inclusive music industry.
